Pumpkin Product Review: Slow Cooker Pumpkin Pie Steel Cut Oats

Cost: I’m not going to total up the ingredient cost, but suffice it to say, cheap.
Review: Throw a couple of things in your crock pot, go to sleep, and bam, breakfast is ready when you wake up. WIN. If you like steel cut oats and pumpkin things, you will like these; if not, I doubt this will change your mind, so please continue with your usual breakfast. A couple of notes- I ignored the silly “no sugar added” thing, and instead of the “optional” honey or Stevia, put a big spoonful of brown sugar on top. And threw some walnuts on there, too. The recipe yields enough for several days. After re-heating, I poured some milk on top and stirred, which made for a creamy texture. And finally, it is critical to soak your crockpot in hot soapy water RIGHT AWAY, or that oatmeal is going to turn to cement. You’ll never get your crock pot clean and you’ll probably have to sell your house to get rid of it.
